Basement conversion in Semi Detached house in Meanwood, Leeds
Our customer wanted a great basement conversion under their semi detached house in Meanwood, Leeds. We transformed the space by making a large new opening and fitting new stairs from the rest of the house. The cellar was structurally waterproofed using John Newon membranes and pumps.
A ceiling height of 2.1 metres was achieved and the walls were drylined using a steel lining system. A curved wall was retained and provides a great feature.
The conversion incorporates a large dining kitchen, additional house bathroom, utility room and storage into the existing floor space of 40 m2.
The project was completed in just 7 weeks, on schedule and on budget. Octopus Building Services undertook all elements of the conversion including the kitchen fitting, structural waterproofing, joinery and finishing. The client received a guarantee from one company for the whole job and saved themselves the hassle and time of choosing, co-ordinating and checking on lots of trades.
